Great googly moogly. Bad weekend for yours truly sports fans. Stupid Texas, stupid Oregon, stupid UB. Well at least 'Consin covered. And they did so by my using my complex mathematic abilities to see through the spread and use math, of all things to win. So with that in mind we are going to an all-math format this week.
Let's review
Texas V. Nebraska.
Where was the Nebraska that lost to USC? Where was the Husker squad that almost lost to Kansas, at home? Well god damn it. Gotta give credit to the folks at Husker Stadium (the 2nd largest city in Nebraska on game days). Anyway, Colt McCoy and Mack Brown and Bill Callahan can go to hell in my book.
I still say Callahan is going to get fired. But that's ok; there will always be a job for him at Callahan Auto Parts.
Oregon V. Wazzu
Stupid Ducks. I guess it was time for me to turn into a pumpkin after a sick streak of picking winners in the Pac 10. It felt like I was on the giving end of a blumpkin in this game. Stupid Oregon.
For those of you not in the know
Blumpkin- Noun
To receive fellatio whist defecating. Highly acclaimed for involving two of the most pleasurable bodily release events simultaneously, but very difficult to accomplish. Also called a blumpy.
UB - Ohio
I guess my blind faith lost me this one. But there have only been two games in which UB has been completely out of it. This was one. Is basketball season starting soon?

Wisconsin - Purdue
This game was won before it was played. It was all in stats. I thought Wisconsin would win by 15.75, they won by twenty-one. Blackjack bitches!
With that in mind, all my picks this week will be done by using conference points for and points against to predict the outcome. Then I will use the spread to determine how it will play out.
**Note** I will also look briefly at yards allowed and yards produced. A HA.
But first, I promised a rant about USC this week and why they should give back at least one NCAA title and Reginald "The President" Bush should give back his Heisman.

Enough of the cheating. Here are the NCAA rules that are relevant

Interpretation: Determined that if a student-athlete on full scholarship receives money from an agent, an institution must adjust the student-athlete's financial aid per Bylaw 6-1-(b)-(1) proportionate with the amount of money received; further, the institution may gradate or cancel the student-athletes aid per NCAA Constitution 3-4-(c)-(2)-(i).
12.1.1 Amateur Status. An individual loses amateur status and thus shall not be eligible for intercollegiate competition in a particular sport if the individual:
(a) Uses his or her athletics skill (directly or indirectly) for pay in any form in that sport;
(b) Accepts a promise of pay even if such pay is to be received following completion of intercollegiate athletics participation;
(c) Signs a contract or commitment of any kind to play professional athletics, regardless of its legal enforceability or any consideration received;
(d) Receives, directly or indirectly, a salary, reimbursement of expenses or any other form of financial assistance from a professional sports organization based upon athletics skill or participation, except as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations; |
Ok, so what's the verdict? NOTHING AS OF YET. STUPID NCAA. Why are they so hesitant to pull the trigger on this investigation? Because cash rules everything around them. These assholes in Indianapolis aren't doing anything because it’s USC. They have stripped titles before, not in football, but other sports that did not make any money.
The NCAA waxes on and on about fair play, and amateurism and student before athlete. But it is all hogwash. What they are really interested in is keeping a team in a major television market on top.
Also, why does every DI team have a compliance department? TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE FOLLOWING THE FUCKING RULES. In this case, these seedy agents with date rapist eyes and possibly toothpicks in their mouths strolled into the compliance department to give "internships" to USC players. I guess Helen Keller was behind the wheel at the compliance office.
The NCAA has stripped seven teams of titles in their past. Most recently they took away Hawaii's national championship in volleyball. Quick, name the setter for the 2002 Hawaii team. OH wait, you have no idea. Me neither. But who cares about Volleyball anyway? It doesn't make the NCAA any money.
Well Cassie Buss cares about volleyball. She also wants to own a coffee shop after her volleyball career ends. She played at the University of Minnesota. Good for her. Guess what Cassie, nobody fucking cares. I will give her credit though; at least she didn't say she wanted to be a Marine Biologist like every other girl I ever met.

In conclusion. I like sports, I like betting on sports. And maybe the NCAA rules don't allow that. But the NCAA rules are very clear when talking about extra benefits. You either give all that money back, or you should be deemed ineligible Reggie. You give back that fucking trophy, and USC, time for you to get some SMU treatment. I can't stand the double standards of this shitty organization anymore. The NCAA only goes after the have-nots, not the haves. And that is bullshit. You have clearly defined rules. Hundreds of pages of rules. ENFORCE THEM!
Lastly, I know student is more important than athlete right? Well that's fucking funny since in the NCAA basketball tournament this year the only team with an acceptable graduation rate out of the Elite Eight was.... you guessed it George Mason. But I guess that's cool. FUCK YOU USC AND THE NCAA.

Might as well call this game Hillbilly North University versus Hillbilly South University, except Hillbilly South has much hotter students that happen to be female. Hillbilly North on the other hand is an Engineers school full of dudes.
Ok, Clemson (HBSU) is averaging 34 points a game against the ACC, while giving up 17
VA Tech (HBNU) is averaging 25.25 while giving up 17.5.
VA Tech is at home.
Math tells me Clemson wins by 4.25
It might be a bad move, but we are taking the Tigers, on the road, giving up 4.5, but they sure did look nasty last week in their Gay Pride Unis.

I'm not sure Nagel and Math mix. This makes me nervous. I hate the Va. Tech pick. Being an adopted Va. Tech fan courtesy of my several trips to visit Head McSki, Mark Vroblefski in Sunny Blacksburg, I cannot and will not go against my foster football team. That Frank Beamer can sell cars.
As a substitute, I will be picking Notre Dame -14 against the overrated Navy Midshipmen. I will tag along with LWN for the PSU and IU picks, though. Any winnings on Notre Dame will not be contributed to the "Lap dance for Rob Nagel fund". As a matter of fact if Notre Dame covers and Ga. Tech does not, Nagel has to grab Dumbrows ass, in my presence, at his earliest convenience.

Yeah, that Clemson pick might be a reach. I think I kind've hinted at that. But I need ratings Ron. Mr. McTrees needs more hits on his site. I like the over in Va Tech-Clemson by the way. I think the ND game is a LOCK, and I like GT.
